Error on login or via invitation or reminder link in email

This article helps you identify the most common error messages during login or when starting a training via the link in the invitation or reminder email, and initiates the correct steps to resolve them.

In most cases, there is no technical defect, but rather an issue with the validity of the access or data synchronization.

Common Error Cases

Case 1: Registration Link Expired

  • Symptom: Your learners received an invitation to register for LMS+, but clicking the link displays a message stating that it is no longer valid.
  • Cause: For security reasons, registration links (email/password procedure) are only active for 14 days.
  • Solution: Please simply resend a new registration link to affected learners.

Case 2: Error Message "Login Not Possible, Setup of Access Data Required"

  • Symptom: The login fails with this specific message, even though learners already have access data.
  • Cause: The original registration process was not completely finished.
  • Solution: Please simply resend a new registration link to affected learners here as well. Learners must complete the registration process entirely once. Afterwards, direct links from training invitations and reminder emails will work properly again.

Case 3: Error During SSO Login (Single Sign-On)

  • Symptom: Your learners use your organization's login button, but receive an error message.
  • Cause: There is an issue with the interface connection (SSO). Either affected learners are not correctly set up in the organization-wide SSO, or their data there does not match the information in the learner list in LMS+.
  • Solution: Please check whether the affected profile is correctly set up in your organization and synchronized identically in LMS+.


Symptom: Your learner received an invitation to register you LMS+ account, but when they click on the link, a message appears that it is no longer valid.

Cause: For security reasons, registration links (email/password method) are only active for 14 days.

Solution: Please resend the registration link for the learners.
